Game looked like night and day and can be seen now when comparing classic to normal WoW. WoW alone took a massive step between WotLK and Cata, no new engine, just massive improvements to the one they use. That is what the doom and gloomers just dont get.

AC1 survived for like a couple decades with updates, still running I think w/o new content.Īdding in extensions to the engine to further convey the IP and setting are done by these GAAS's all the time.without a full re-write to another engine. AC2 was graphically awesome at the time and the game itself was not only not AC, it was barely a game. IME, all of the live games that last do innovate and improve the engines used as well.Īsheron's Call is a classic example.

There are just so many out there right now that are what these people would call outdated or old and dead, but they are very much alive and kicking since people dont care about the graphics not being the latest or even from the last 10 years. The biggest reasons they've shut down is because they've been extremely missmanaged or have had another company taking over the IP rights and made a new game, forcing a shut down of the previous. Only a very select few of them have had sequels and even fewer have actually shut down due to age. Some went off to hit the books, others to examined the salvaged parts further, a few pondered if they should examine the crater, as well as seeing if the Garlean’s whereabouts could be found.Alot of those doom and gloomers should also take a look at the history of most online games that are of "mmo" style. It is not sure whether the gunblade and the crater were directly related, but the group decided that further research was needed in order to come to a conclusion, not wishing to jump to them haphazardly. It was hidden from a Garlean that caused ‘trouble’ for the group, the owners of the lodge deciding it was best to keep it away from the Garlean as they had no idea what entailed if he were to have it… It seems like it was only weeks ago where this Garlean warned them that if they didn’t give him the gunblade that something bad would happen… This gunblade was garlean-made and custom-fitted with something within. It was then where Flynt brought up a recent discovery that the location of the crater coincided with the burial of a certain gunblade. Two objects seeming to be on opposite ends of the spectrum… The shards reminded him of shards found in a pair of regions known to foster high amount of aetherial shards. They seemed completely void of any aetherial manipulation, apparently a telling sign of it’s crafter. The group brainstormed their possible origins, Lance making several noteworthy observations on the metal shards. There were also crystalline splinters with a faint yellow color, having a noteworthy golden sparkle to them as well. They were smooth and polished, but the ends were jagged due to some kind of impact. The huntmaster presented the items retrieved from the previous outing, revealing several thin metal shards.

The following week, the lodge members as well as several individuals from a recently allied group of hunters and affiliates gathered at the lodge. The rest of the group retrieved several items of note before bringing their leader back to the lodge to recover.

Birds flocked high above it… An odor emanated from within it… Mangled corpses laid inside and a unsettling aura was felt around it… Flynt was ‘unsuccessful’ in examining the crater further, injuring himself in the process (with the help of a certain au’ra). After defeating/avoiding everything that got in their way, they discovered a rather large crater. They discovered hostile undead on the Isles of Umbra as well as weirdly behaving mantises, the mantises digging into the ground. The Maelstrom and Sahagin in the area were having a difficult time controlling the zone, so the group went in to assist with the issue as well as to try and find the cause of it. During the previous week’s mission, the group ventured out to Aleport to follow up on several reports of overly aggressive beasts in the area.
